Draft translations all done!

Well it’s been a hectic few days but it seems I found some time to finish the draft translations after all.  All chapters have now been translated.  Now we’ll have to wait… for translation checkers like DeltaCake @fkeroge to check my translation, and AXYPB to edit the script, edit the English graphics and finally code the English patch. I can kick back and relax now (actually, I finished this translation not a moment too soon–Real Life is going to swamp me so there won’t be much relaxing) but I’ll check back and help with the translation checking and editing when I can.  Not that I can be of much help–I can’t be my own checker–but I can whine and complain about my original vision for the script being twisted out by the editors–I mean, discuss changes with the editors and point out the rationale for my wording and reach compromises on the final script 😉

And with that I bid you goodnight for today. (at 3am here)

[Edit: there was a mistake in the little video above–I translated only about 12 out of the 15 chapters.  Chapters 1 and 3 and some parts of a few other chapters were translated by Kuchibiru and @fkeroge before I joined the project, although I did take time to try to check those as well. @fkeroge’s site reads like he’s dropped everything but actually he’s doing translation checking for SH6 as we speak.]

Just saw that you completed the draft, and in such a short amount of time. Your amazing, I can’t wait for the finished product 😀

  8. Joe0Bloggs says:

Oh thank you everybody ^.^. Between getting to practise writing English prose again and learning Japanese from reading the scripts, it was actually quite an enjoyable experience :] Of course I don’t want people to think translating a VN is easy or quick just because I made it look that way. Much credit goes to whoever set up Yuri Project for creating a platform where people can find their niche of competence and contribute to localizing all sorts of content quickly and easily.

Though I suppose I can be proud of what I’ve done so far I’d say that I’ve done less than a third of the total work required to make an actual English patch for this VN, whereas some of the other “groups” working on other sequels are/were little more than one-man-band; the lack of manpower is exacerbated by the person working on the project probably being only good at one or two aspects of translation/editing/checking/programming/graphics… Yay for groupwork at Yuri Project indeed.

(Does anybody find the Meebo messenger on the right to be of any use? I got to know one person visiting the site on the first day, then I’ve never been able to hold even one line of conversation with anybody since. Scroll down the page and you don’t see what’s going on in the messenger. Leave the site or even just move on to another article in this site and you lose your temporary identity and I won’t be able to respond to you. Hmmm. Even “Somebody on Meebo” was me copying the message from one of these orphaned temporary Meebo accounts so I can respond to it in some way.)

  11. Arche says:

Really? A full Hanabira game translated in a month?

    My hero.

  12. Akito_Kinomoto says:

I have to say that I was wondering if this game was ever going to get translated because of how the first one seemed to put everyone off. You’ve got guts considering the circumstances.

    • Joe0Bloggs says:

Well, I don’t have much choice of projects to take up as I don’t know Japanese well at all and am limited to sequels for which a Chinese patch has already been released, which I can use to greatly help with my translation. If I were to take up another SH game for translation it would be SH9, the sequel to the teacher-student couple, another bomb overseas I hear. I could rename this site “SH translations nobody gives a **** about” XD

Anyway, if people end up not liking the game I doubt they will blame the translator rather than Fuguriya unless we do a horrible job translating 😉

  13. Roze says:

    thanks dude~ u are awesome \=0=/

  18. Newbster says:

It made me so depressed when they skipped Sono Hana 6 to translate #7. When I found out you were translating #6 I can’t describe how happy I was! Thank you very much for all your hard work and all the effort you have put into this.

    • Joe0Bloggs says:

Thank you, and don’t worry–the translation checking and editing are moving on nicely, check my reply to your other comment.

    • AXYPB says:

That’s inaccurate. This visual novel was never “skipped”; all of the translations began at different times by different individuals, and this translation simply could not keep pace. The releases that were completed followed chronological order merely by coincidence.

      • Newbster says:

Thank you for clearing that up :D. Although the patch for #7 still came out before #6. I’m not positive but i’m pretty sure i’m not the only one who sorta feels like it was skipped 😛

      • AXYPB says:

This is an easy assumption to make due to the convenient release order of the patches, but rest assured that I am no less interested in seeing this translation through to completion than any of the others.

  19. wendy says:

    you’re awesome 😀

  20. Leon Kishimoto says:

So I’m a little confused. Who exactly is doing the patching of the game? I heard it was AXYPB. Although I’m not entirely sure. 😛

  21. Yuri Lover says:

    So is it done now?
    Is It DONE!?
Can Someone please talk me its done

  22. Yuki Kisume says:
